What is Scribe?

Scribe reads your Meta Ads Manager export, maps the columns automatically, and turns each row into a diagnosed creative test you can act on.

1. Export from Meta Ads Manager

In Meta Ads Manager, switch the breakdown to the Ad level, pick the time range you want to learn from, and use Reports → Export → CSV or XLSX.

You don't need to pre-pick columns. Include everything Meta gives you. Scribe ignores unknown columns and maps the relevant ones automatically.

2. Required columns

Three columns must be present for a row to be usable. Anything beyond that is optional and improves the diagnosis.

Required

Ad Name
Identifies the row. Either Meta's default Ad Name or a TM-tag (see below).
Spend
Money spent on the ad in the report period. EUR or USD — both work.
Impressions
Number of times the ad was shown.

Optional (improves diagnosis)

Funnel + video
ROAS, purchases, link clicks, frequency, video hold, attribution windows. Missing optional fields just leave the corresponding diagnoses empty.

3. TM-tag convention (optional, recommended)

If your Ad Name follows the Trailmaker tag pattern, every row can be auto-attributed back to the Ridge script and Bearing angle that produced it. Without a tag the row is still usable, but won't link back to its origin.

Format

TM|{campaign}|{angle}|{script}|{format}|v{version}

Example

TM|3f9a|spring-jacket-discount|founder-skeptic-v2|video|v3

Format values

founder · video · static

Trailmaker generates this tag automatically when you export ads from the Sandbox via Meta Bulk Export — paste it into the Ad Name field when you create the ad in Meta Ads Manager.

Troubleshooting

What if my CSV has German column names like Ausgaben or Impressionen?
Scribe maps columns by meaning, not by literal name. Both Spend and Ausgaben are recognized.
What's the maximum row count?
Scribe handles up to a few thousand rows per import. For larger exports split by date range.
What happens to rows without a TM-tag?
They get diagnosed normally but won't link to a Ridge script or Bearing angle. The diagnosis still tells you whether the hook, hold, CTR, or CVR is the bottleneck.
Can I re-import the same period later?
Yes — Scribe deduplicates by Ad Name. The latest import wins for any matching ad.
