Trailmaker vs AdNova
What AdNova is built for
AdNova describes itself as one platform to discover, research, create, manage and analyse ads. In practice that is several products on one platform: an inspiration library with AI search, Detective for tracking competitor ads, Creative Analytics with AI reports, Creative Hub for review and feedback on finished assets, a bulk uploader for Meta campaigns, and a set of ad templates.
Its plans are sized by workspaces, users, ad accounts and monthly ad spend. That is the shape of software for teams and agencies who run several accounts and need the creative process itself to be managed.
What Trailmaker is built for
Trailmaker is built for the person who has a Meta account full of live ads and no clear verdict on them. It reads the ads you have run, judges each one against your own break-even, and says what to kill, scale or test next, with the reasoning written out so you can disagree with it. Then it remembers the answer once Meta reports back.
It is deliberately narrower than a platform. Trailmaker offers no inspiration library and no shared workspace for reviewing assets. Its one launch path is Quick Deploy in the Media Buyer beta (Pro): up to ten videos per job, staged as paused ads that you review and confirm before they go live. The product is the verdict.
When AdNova is the better buy
Situations where we would tell you to go with them. This is not a formality — if one of these is your situation, buying Trailmaker would be a mistake.
You launch creative in volume. AdNova's bulk uploader exists to put many ads into Meta at once, while Trailmaker's Quick Deploy takes up to ten videos per job.
You need a place where editors, strategists and clients review creative. Creative Hub handles feedback and versioning on assets, which is outside what Trailmaker covers.
You want market research and creative analytics on one platform. AdNova pairs an ad library and competitor tracking with analytics by creative dimension, while Trailmaker looks only at your own account.
The structural difference
A platform earns its keep by covering the whole workflow, so each part has to stay general: the library shows what others run, the analytics describe how creative performed, the launcher ships the next batch. Trailmaker makes one structural choice instead. Every ad is judged against the break-even ROAS that comes from your own unit economics.
That choice is also its limit. It gives a verdict on ads that already ran and has nothing to say about ads that do not exist yet. Whether the resulting ads perform better is a claim we do not make; we have not proven it, and we are not going to sell it before we have.
Questions people ask
- What is the difference between Trailmaker and AdNova?
- AdNova is a creative platform: ad inspiration, competitor tracking, creative analytics, asset review and a bulk uploader for Meta, sized for teams and agencies. Trailmaker is narrower. It reads the Meta ads you already ran, judges each one against your own break-even, and says what to kill, scale or test next.
- When is AdNova the better buy?
- When you launch creative in volume and want a bulk uploader for Meta. When editors, strategists and clients need one place to review assets. And when you want market research and creative analytics on the same platform. AdNova is built as that platform; Trailmaker is not.
- Does Trailmaker launch ads in bulk like AdNova?
- Only on a small scale. Quick Deploy in the Media Buyer beta (Pro) stages up to ten videos per job as paused ads in Meta. You review the preview, or the Ads Manager link when Meta returns none, and confirm before activation. Trailmaker offers no inspiration library and no shared workspace for reviewing assets. Its core is to read the ads you have already run and return a verdict per ad against your break-even, with the reasoning written out so you can overrule it.
